In 2022, Gemba and Athletics Australia developed a junior participation program that was endorsed by the Board to proceed to the development of a comprehensive business case. The case assesses the delivery model options and recommends the most suitable option that meets AA and Member Associations’ needs.
The aim of the business case was to further understand, assess and validate the delivery model options available. The intended outcome was a clear path to support the successful launch and implementation of the program, this included securing funding and finalising program resources.

We highlighted the ideal delivery model for the new junior program based on a comprehensive criteria framework, including detailed financial modelling of each option to understand the expected return on investment and funding requirements. The final report for Athletics Australia included an actionable implementation plan for the delivery model to go to market, specific funding request and internal and external capability required to deliver the programs.
