Our Challenge

Football Australia (FA) was faced with the challenge of positioning itself to attract potential private investment in an increasingly competitive industry.

As the global sports economy continued to expand and profressionalise, private investments in clubs, leagues and events has increased exponentially. Football Australia (FA) was faced with the challenge of positioning itself to attract potential private investment in an increasingly competitive industry. As part of FA’s proactive planning approach, they conducted a comprehensive assessment of the Australian Football ecosystem under a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) model.

Our Solution

Gemba was engaged to assist with modelling the current and future value of Australian Football to inform a business case or prospectus for investment.

Gemba was engaged to assist with modelling the current and future value of Australian Football to inform a business case or prospectus for investment. Gemba identified key Football macro trends that would underpin the go-to-market narrative for the SPV model, whilst pinpointing critical drivers of value essential to generating future growth. Additionally, key value enablers to support commercial and fan growth along with its impact on key revenue streams were identified.

Gemba’s approach provided FA with a robust framework highlighting three substantial areas of opportunity to be explored further through the SPV, providing analysis to FA’s financial modelling and go-to-market strategy.
