Our Challenge
Following the successful launch of a new competition, this organisation recognised there were a significant opportunity for growth that hadn’t yet been realised.
Gemba was engaged to build a credible business case by quantifying the audience and revenue potential of the competition for the next 10 years. The objective of the business case was to help ensure the current organisation continues to realise the potential of the competition and it is sufficiently resourced to optimise the opportunity for the competing teams.
Our Solution
Gemba analysed the performance of the competition’s first season, focusing on the key revenue streams.
This included broadcast, sponsorship, ticketing and merchandise, and the size of the competition’s fan base. This was then benchmarked against other global cricket properties. Resulting inputs from this analysis and a stakeholder workshop enabled Gemba to create a commercial model which outlined the 10-year revenue potential for the competition. The final output included a benefits assessment of further investment into the competition.
