About Me

Growing up as the youngest in a competitive house, where sport was used to resolve summer holiday disputes, I’ve been brought up playing, organising and spectating every sport you can think of. Therefore it was a bit of a shock that it took me until covid to finally turn my passion into my profession via a slight detour through the worlds of M&A and strategy consulting.

After retiring from team sports, I’ve taken up individual pursuits (marathons and cycling races), and between those I’m spending time with my family, in particular training my 1-year old daughter ahead of the London 2040 Olympics!

I’ve joined Gemba to combine my previous experiences in both the commercial and data analytics side of sport.

Day in the Life

6:00am – Force myself to get out of bed (only if my daughter hasn’t woken up during the night) and into our home gym for a quick 20mins to blast away the cobwebs.

6:30am – Breakfast and coffee before jumping in the car to drive to the station. Worth adding, I live in the middle of nowhere

7:10am – Pray that the trains are running on time and then throw on one of the many sports business podcasts for the long commute

8:45am – Arrive at the office, another coffee before booting up the laptop and the firefighting begins

9:30am – Catch up with the various project teams and touch base with the Australian office

11:00am – Head to my favourite place in the office, the whiteboard, drag whoever is closest to soundboard my latest product offering or thought leadership

12:30pm – Meet a client for lunch to discuss how best we can support them with their latest ideas or problems

3.00pm – Walk and talk with a team member, outdoor conversations are always better

4.00pm – Set aside some time to review our latest client deliverables

5.30pm - Start the commute home, call a friend on my walk to the station

7.00pm - Arrive home, bath and bedtime for the little one
