About Me
I'm lucky enough to be part of the exclusive 'Gemba-returnees' club! Drawn back by Gemba's unbeatable culture and the exceptional talent, I 'pulled a Condo' and eagerly seized the opportunity to return. With 20 years of finance experience in industries from film distribution to medical centres, I’m currently rocking it as the Management Accountant for our UK and US businesses, all from Melbourne Australia.
I absolutely love the variety my role offers. As a mom of two energetic young boys, I really value the flexibility that comes with working across different time zones. It lets me balance my professional life and family time perfectly. Right now, I’m enjoying the best of both worlds, working part-time, three days a week.
Day in the Life
7:15am – Alarm goes off, followed by hitting the snooze button over and over and over again; mornings and I are still negotiating our relationship status.
8:00am – I wake my toddler, steal a cuddle, then chase him around to get him ready for kinder.
10:00am – Arrive at Gemba, fill up my water bottle, and tackle the inbox to see what landed overnight.
10:30am – Review my To-Do list: JCRs, month-end tasks, payroll, or management reports today?
12:30pm – Go for a stroll to get lunch.
1:00pm – Lead a Finance training session for our Aussie team.
1:30pm – Back to work, ticking off tasks from the To-Do list.
5:00pm – Time to go home and spend some time with my boys!
8:30pm – Evening emails with the UK crew and maybe a Teams call to welcome a new face.
9:30pm – Enjoy some kid-free time before I head to bed.
