Catherine Fell

My passion for data in sports began as a teenager after watching the film “Moneyball”. I realised I could combine my love for mathematics with sports and potentially never experience another football heartbreak again (A girl can dream!). This led to me studying Mathematics at university, followed by a masters in Data Analytics.

I started my career in the NHS, analysing local population demographics and health behaviours. I believe this experience will be useful here at Gemba for analysing the demographics of fans and their behaviour. I was keen to step into the sports sector and subsequently joined the Football Foundation. I left the Foundation to advance my career and take on new challenges, which led me to Gemba!

Outside of work, I’m usually watching the Arsenal - both the women’s and men’s teams. Normally, at least one of them wins, bringing some joy to my week! I also play 5-a-side football and enjoy playing tennis when the weather is warmer. Besides sports, I love discovering new music and going to gigs.
