About Andrew

I have worked in client and agency side sports marketing roles in Australia and New Zealand for over 25 years. I am interested in the nexus where sport and entertainment meet business and how we, as an industry, can all be better. My diverse experience across many sectors ensures my advice is straightforward, solutions-oriented, and actionable.

As Managing Director, I lead teams in Melbourne, Sydney, and London and support client delivery across research & data, business advisory, marketing strategy, and creative services for sport and entertainment rights holders, government organizations, and brands around the world.

Day In The Life

5:00am – Out the door to BFT. I prefer to get my daily exercise done and dusted early, it wakes up the body and mind and sets me up for the day ahead. Win the morning, win the day after all, but why is there always an assault bike or box jumps?

7:30am – Breakfast in the office, a quick browse of the news, review of the calendar and draw up the plan of attack for the day

8:30am – Weekly sales meeting with divisional managers, to discuss the sales pipeline, new business opportunities, proposals to get out this week and some pending resource challenges.

9:00am – Client meeting with the Marketing Strategy team to update on a major contract negotiation. Review the Turnstile valuation and update our negotiation strategy in readiness for the first major meeting next week

10:00am – Catch up with Ruby for some calendar Tetris. She is a miracle worker!

10:30am – Meeting with the Gemba strategy team who are working on a range of sports expansion projects. We have a major milestone meeting this week and a potentially unpopular recommendation to deliver.

12:00pm – Lunch in the kitchen for Matt Tan’s very unique quiz format.

12:30pm – Play table tennis. Lose.

12:45pm – New project kick-off meeting with the Insights team, we are helping a NSO understand and design new programs to reposition their sport to increase participation, retention, and satisfaction

2:00pm – Working session with the Data & Analytics team on developing our Venues Data Platform for major sport and entertainment stadia and facilities.

3:30pm – Review pitch deliverable. Our Events team is pitching to deliver major hospitality and activation project at the Australian Open

5:30pm – WIP with Claire, Millsy, and the London team. We discuss the status of the joint Gemba/Turnstile project, developing two commercial strategies for a leading global sports organisation. We also cover a Data & Analytics project we are completing for one of the top Premier League clubs, and debrief on our data and insights work for the ICC on the T20 Cricket World Cup.

6:30pm – Catch up with Erika and the Marketing Steering Committee to discuss company marketing plan for the next 6months
